FTWO is closed as of July 3rd, 2009 for at LEAST 2 months with a reopen date tentatively scheduled for end of September.

That sentence I feel pretty much says it all. Of course there will be an IC reason given and all that, but I've always tried to be on the up and up with my fed, so here goes as to why.

As you know our regular shows suffer from a lack of participation, whether it be RP wise, match writers, people sending in segments. CC is down to 3 others besides myself, and 1 of them runs their own fed, and 1 will be soon. Plus one member of CC has actually gone the extra step and has a few times written all the matches, and I feel its no longer fair to him or to the rest of the fed for us all to be suffering burnout, and given summer can nearly close a fed permanently or it booms, I had to take a hard look at things. The last few weeks have made that even clearer.

So due to personal reasons on my part, due to fed members needing a better chunk of the summer off for various reasons, I've come to the conclusion along with my creative team that in order to "regain the fire" that FTWO will not close on a permanent basis but just take a "summer vacation" itself. As for current champions and contenders for when we reopen, that is currently and will be discussed. If you are either of these and have a thought on it, feel free to drop me a PM about it, all ideas will be thought over. Kow your idea may not work, but I can't think it over if you keep it to yourself.

When we reopen the tentative idea is to skip either Patriot Games or Going the Distance PPV and have the other one in October. Basically to keep the fed on track we'll drop one and do the other this year. Which one? I dont know yet to be truly honest. Patriot Games is a big name PPV for us, but GtD is our "all gimmick" ppv, so it will be a decision that I make when the time comes.

As for anyone who is in the fed at the moment, your application/bio on file will be left in place, look alikes will remain the same for now, etc. As for all the NPC people from the fed owner down to interviewers, they will be retained by the FTWO staff for now. However if you ARE a member of this fed and want to continue to fed, HVW has said that they will take anyone who would like to join, you need to contact HardyGirl (J to some of us) or in August RIW will be opening, contact Alyon about joining there. So there are options still on PWC, and know that anyone wanting to stay with FTWO when we open back up will be welcome back and we'll see where we're at.

So that's it...we're taking about 2 1/2 months off to recharge our batteries, to look at how things are going and if we want to restructure the fed and shows and such. Given that FTWO has run pretty much without anything more then a few week break, we've been going strong since the beginning of 2006, so nearly 4 years without a huge break is pretty damn good, and I hope that when we all return we find the "passion" for fedding that most of us have.

Any questions? You can Pm them to me, or post in here (as long as they aren't totally inflammatory remarks). I may not ANSWER them in here, instead choose to drop you a PM, depending on the question, but I will listen.

On a personal note-now that fed stuff is out of the way. (BTW this is Star/P...I just realized that I actually posted this under the Board account)

Before anyone asks or accuses....I will be remaining in HVW for the time being. RIW, yes Troy will be the General Manager there, and if any of you are in SWAT, that is the fed I'm remaining dedicated to for the summer. So please dont jump my case about "still fedding" if I'm taking a break. It's a partial break, mostly for the creative team to reenergize and focus on things.

So... let me get this straight. You're choosing RPing over running your own fed? If that's the case... why are you even going to bother re-opening it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing you for the break. But the impression that I got from this post is that given the choice between actively RPing and running your fed the way is should be run, you're choosing active fedding right? If that's the case, Paula... I'd suggest you leave FTWO to rot, or hand it off to someone else. I'm in no way saying your choice is wrong in RPing rather than running the fed, I'm just saying if that's your choice... it's obvious that that's what you'd rather be doing, so why even bother re-opening the fed? It's obvious that is stresses you out, and it's obvious that you can't find the people to aid you in running it. If you ask me (which I'm fairly certain you didn't), you need to just let it go, or hand it off to someone else.

This is the perfect example of what it is to be stretched to thin. Yes, we all have lives outside of fedding. Yes, it comes first. But if your real life is forcing you to always have to say it comes first, then maybe this isn't the hobby you should be a part of. Or rather, running a fed shouldn't be in your list of things to do when you play this game.

I'm not trying to start an argument or anything, and to be honest... you could just ignore me completely. I'd just like to think that I know what I'm talking about, and I'm just giving you my opinion on the situation. Choose to ignore me? That's fine. Take my advice? Also fine. I just figured you'd want to know how someone outside of your circle (despite the fact that you can't stand me) see things.

- This isn't me playing CC. I simply wanted to get my two cents in. -

Handing it off won't solve anything, Shane. I may not be on CC but I've been helping them out with writing past year and know that our problem is writers. There were times when it was me and Alex splitting the card 50/50 with no one else stepping up. If people would drop silly grudges and pitch in just like when they RP for here, it probably wouldn't have gotten to this extreme. But as long as we have these "I won't work for X because of this..." grudges instead of just helping out/sending a PM, it will be VERY hard to shoulder that load on your own. It's not that hard to pitch in even with a segment... you don't have to like that person/fed you're in to help out, in the end it's just a PM, not a close mini convo.

Uhh... I wasn't saying it would solve the fed problem. I was saying it would solve Paula's stress problem. There's a pretty damn good reason why people don't like to help out here, Eric... and that's not going to change regardless of who's in charge. I was more thinking of Paula's well being, than the well being of the fed.

At this point I'm not sure what will exactly help it anymore. Wish there was some way to convince people to write for here again. I know I won't be able to for a couple of months with having lots more responsibilities in the next two months. We can't control the past but we could control the present, tis why I came back. There's no use in holding grudges, it just clouds up your mind unnecessarily/not allowing evolution to take its course. But again... this is just the thoughts of one person... it may not be accepted by a ton of people, but it's the thought that counts.
